Stewarts Original Hot Dogs

Very cool place! They've been around since 1934. Car hop service was great, and my waitress was a doll. Chili Dogs were fantastic. Fries and milkshake were great too. I'll definitely be going back. I'd like to try more of their menu. I got a kick out of the signs on the restrooms (See my photos).

DO NOT MISS THE GENUINE WV ORIGINAL! Officially the ABSOLUTE best hot dog in the entire state of West Virginia. The chili dogs are just as GREAT as they were the first time I was there. The first time was in the late 1960's. This is the oldest continually operating Drive-In in the state of West Virginia (since 1932). In the late 1960's an uncle had just arrived at the Huntington Airport on a Saturday afternoon. He had just come home from the Viet Nam War after having served with the United States Navy as a SeaBee. The first place he wanted to go was Stewart's Hot Dogs! So all 43 of us went to Stewarts directly from the airport! It was a totally awesome moment in time. The place was busy when we got there. Then our clan showed up. We stayed there celebrating his return til well after dark. Not only is this place historic and nostalgic it is just a WONDERFUL place for a Brat and/or a chili/slaw dog! Their home made root beer is the best too! Favorite hot dog General Chuck Yeager.

There is a good reason they have been around since 1932. BEST HOTDOG EVER! I even met the 5th generation owner. She and her coworkers were so very nice. You owe it to yourself to try one ( or12) Bought a hat too.

It's was my 1st experience of eating a hot dog like this! To park and have it delivered it in the window of my car. I really enjoyed it. The toppings were delicious, and the sausage was a mix from beef and pork. Plus, they have different discounts every day of the week!

A staple in the Huntington, WV region. Decades of quality and community support. Always a good time and needed stop when visiting. The Classic hotdog is good. Add coleslaw to make it great! Tried a bratwurst this time. Was good. Definitely be back for more when in the area.

92 years, this great hot dog and root beer place has been here!! I can now say they have the best hot dogs in the area after coming here a few times. And, of course, Stewart's root beer is my personal favorite. It's not too creamy and has just the right amount of root beer flavor. It's not "biting" like some root beers. Sooooo good!!! This is a great little hot dog and root beer place with car hop service. Friendly car hops and quick service on all sorts of chili with slaw dogs, hamburgers, chicken, fries, etc. Good prices, too. I tried the doggage with their chili/onion sauce. The three-pack was very good! Came with a good bunch of fries. You know, it was kinda like going back in time to when I was a kid. I loved Stewart's root beer then, and I still love it now, decades later. Come and try this wonderful food and soda restaurant. You'll be glad you did. I'll be stopping here whenever I drive a rideshare into the area. I love it! 8/9/24: Stopped again for lunch and had three Sauce 'n Slaw dogs, and of course a diet root beer. Gosh, they are soooo good!! As before, the service was friendly and fast by Silas. He's a blast, and I got a kick out of him needling his coworkers in a real funny way. It was like a little comedy show during lunch! Keep up the great work, Silas. Prices are still good. Folks, as far as tasty doggage goes....these hot dogs are delicious, and they're Charlie, the cat approved.

Workers are super friendly first time in West Virginia so happy we found these dogs happened to go on a Tuesday they had five or six bucks or something ridiculously affordable so we got onion rings frosted mugs of root beer and french fries so good!!! I would definitely go there again!!

I’ve been going to Stewart’s for over 50 years! I will always love their simplicity and delicious hotdogs and root beer in a frosted mug.
